1. Otomasi Perpustakaan: Si “Asisten Pintar” Pengelola
Otomasi perpustakaan bukan berarti bukunya berubah jadi robot, melainkan digitalisasi sistem manajemennya. Fokusnya adalah mempermudah pekerjaan administratif agar lebih cepat dan akurat.
Apa saja yang diotomasi?
- Pengadaan & Katalog: Input data buku baru ke sistem.
- Sirkulasi: Proses pinjam-kembali buku yang biasanya tinggal scan barcode.
- OPAC (Online Public Access Catalog): Mesin pencari di komputer perpustakaan untuk mengecek apakah buku yang kamu cari tersedia atau sedang dipinjam.
Contoh Aplikasi di Indonesia:
- SLiMS (Senayan Library Management System): Ini adalah “primadona” dari Indonesia. Perangkat lunak open-source buatan anak bangsa ini sudah digunakan oleh ribuan perpustakaan sekolah, kampus, hingga instansi pemerintah di Indonesia bahkan luar negeri.
- InlisLite: Aplikasi yang dikembangkan oleh Perpustakaan Nasional RI (Perpusnas) untuk membantu perpustakaan daerah di seluruh Indonesia mengelola koleksi mereka secara standar.
2. Perpustakaan Digital: Perpustakaan Tanpa Dinding
Berbeda dengan otomasi yang mengelola fisik buku, Perpustakaan Digital adalah tempat di mana koleksinya sendiri berbentuk digital (e-book, e-journal, audio, atau video). Kamu tidak perlu datang ke gedung fisik untuk membaca.
Ciri Khasnya:
- Bisa diakses 24/7 dari mana saja.
- Satu dokumen bisa dibaca oleh banyak orang sekaligus (tergantung lisensi).
- Hemat ruang karena tidak butuh rak fisik.
Contoh Aplikasi di Indonesia:
- iPusnas: Aplikasi milik Perpusnas ini sangat populer. Kamu bisa meminjam e-book secara gratis layaknya di perpustakaan fisik, lengkap dengan fitur media sosial untuk saling berinteraksi antar pembaca.
- iJakarta / iJogja: Banyak pemerintah daerah yang bekerja sama dengan pengembang (seperti Aksaramaya) untuk membuat perpustakaan digital khusus warga daerahnya.
